What is GDPR?	The GDPR enables data subjects to take control of their personal information. This section covers the basics of the law and how it is applied.
What is classified as data?	Under the GDPR anything that can identify an individual is classed as personal data. The section covers the classification of data along with protected characteristics.
GDPR Definitions and Terms	There are many definitions under the GDPR. This section gives an overview of them in context and includes common terminology.
Who does GDPR apply to?	The GDPR applies to ‘personal data’, which means any information relating to an identifiable person. This section gives an understanding of how the law is applied.
Six Data Protection Principles	Under the GDPR there are six data protection principles which cover the aspects of the law. This section gives an in-depth overview of each of the principles and what they mean.
Lawful Basis for Processing	Your organisation must understand the basis for processing data. Within this section we discuss the lawful basis for processing personal data and how to recognise these.
Consent	Consent comes directly from the data subject and must be freely given, be specific, informed and unambiguous. This section details the consent conditions.
Individuals rights	Under GDPR individuals can now take legal action against data controllers and data processors who infringe their rights. This sections highlights the eight different rights and what these mean.
Security of Personal Data	A key principle of the GDPR is that you process personal data securely by means of ‘appropriate technical and organisational measures’. In this section we cover the ‘security principle’.
Data Breach	The GDPR introduces a duty on all organisations to report certain types of personal data breach to the relevant supervisory authority. This section details what is classified as a data breach.
Data Privacy Impact Assessment	The GDPR includes a new obligation to conduct a Data Privacy Impact Assessment (DPIA). This sections covers when and how to carry out a DPIA, demonstrating accountability.
